Today is the 28th Anniversary of the signing of the ADA. In this brief issue of the Explore Access Update, we highlight a few of resources for those who want to learn the basics of the ADA.
Resource Highlight
- Timeline of the ADA: Highlights events leading up to the passage of the ADA, regulations, major cases, and amendments.
- ADA Basic Building Blocks Course: This is an introductory webcourse on the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) that is designed to help increase your knowledge and understanding of the basic principles and core concepts in the ADA and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA).
- Overview of Disability Rights Webcourse: An introduction to four major federal disability rights laws: the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Rehabilitation Act, the Fair Housing Act, and the Air Carrier Access Act. At the end of the course you should be able to determine which laws apply to different discriminatory situations.
