Zoom Tips

You can check out Zoom accessibility features here.

Getting ready: For the most predictable experience, you can join a test meeting prior to the meeting. If you already have Zoom downloaded, you will be asked if you want to allow the page to open the application. If not, you can choose “Download and Run” Zoom. This will give you a chance to get accustomed to the interface and make sure your audio and video are working properly.

Once Zoom downloads you will be given the option to join with computer audio or by phone.

If you are joining using computer audio: Below the “Join Audio Conference by Computer” button is an option to “Test Computer Mic and Speakers”.  Selecting this will open a window where you can test your audio input (microphone or headset) and output (speakers or headphone). If all works properly, return to the popup that allows you to join with computer audio.

If you are joining the audio portion using the phone: Choose “Phone” when given the option and the dial-in information will be provided. This will allow you to be on video if you want, but hear the audio by phone.
