May is an exciting month for us! Why? It’s the month of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)! This year, we’ve prepared something for you to use to celebrate GAAD and show your commitment to #a11y!
Resource Highlight
Several of you have expressed the need for a series of quick tips or facts that you can share with people in your organizations to increase awareness of digital access. We’ve prepared just that with our Did You Know? Series. We’ve created 12 memes that you can share. For each meme, we’ve already written the alt text for you so you can make it accessible. We’ve also prepared some more detailed information to share about each topic. You can post them on social media or send an email blast to people in your organization.
The link below will take you to a page where you can learn more about this resource and learn how to download the memes, descriptions and more.
So make a plan now for how you might use this (or other resources) to show your commitment on Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 16th! If you prefer to simply share from our posts, follow us on Facebook and Twitter and share our posts with your followers from there. Our posts will begin on May 7th and run through the 16th.
We hope you find this resource helpful! Of course, you don’t have to use them right away. Chooose the time that is convenient for you. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact Melanie at mthornt@uark.edu.
